How frustration drove us to do better.

Octadoc is a story of how IT can be used for good. Improving care and patient satisfaction, and give doctors what we often miss in our busy lives - a bit of joy and a pat on the back for a job well done.

Meet Our Team

Inês Baptista
Founder, GP

As some would say, I am not just a GP.

In reality, at some point in my career, I was a GP, a psychologist, an IT expert (damn you printer) and a social worker - all in the space of 10 minutes.

There was one role, however, I could not escape - the dreaded note taker. After every appointment, regardless of how short or long, the blank screen awaited me.

I tried to flirt with it and make it look more appealing - add some auto-fills, use a sexy dictation device, but all to no avail. I was either running late, writing mediocre notes or staying behind one hour just so that I could feel happy with what I had written. Our relationship was doomed, and every day I resented it more.

So, I did what some people do in unhappy relationships: I searched for a better alternative. And as many people painfully find out, there wasn't one. Nothing. Nada. A desert of options.

However (and this is where I am luckier than most people), I was able to create something that actually made my life better. A simple tool that made my dreaded note writing exercise easy. Click, click and voilá.

For me, Octadoc is a story of how IT can be used for good - to improve care and patient satisfaction and give doctors what we often miss in our busy lives - a bit of joy and a pat on the back for a job well done.

“Octadoc has changed the way I run my day - I can see more patients, take a break and finish on time”
